Medical Grade Honey with a Legacy

Medical Grade Honey with a Legacy

There is no honey in the world that has the legacy of Sidr honey. Harvested from the ancient, sacred Sidr tree, the roots of this honey are beyond history books and therapeutic endeavours. Twice a year, bees sip the nectar from the floral blooms of this blessed tree, also known as the Lote tree, Christ’s thorn tree or Jujube tree. The bark, roots, fruit and leaves are all used as remedies or therapeutic preventative agents.

Sidr trees are not only found in Yemen. However, since environmental factors play a significant role in the quality of honey produced, Yemeni Sidr honey is the best on the market.

Soil composition, contaminants such as pesticides, the use of antibiotics, beekeeping practices (link to process page) including feeding bees sugar to ensure their survival, are all elements that play a role in the quality of honey bees produce. However, within the valley known as Wadi Duwan peacefully stands a majestic oasis of undisturbed Sidr trees. These trees are deeply embedded in the history of the land and staunchly protected by its people for the welfare of continuing its great medicinal legacy. To this day, medical doctors within the region will use Sidr honey as a treatment. It has unusually high levels of antioxidants and is an excellent antiseptic, antimicrobial, antifungal, and antiviral agent.

“Sidr honey is widely used as a medication to treat liver diseases, ulcers of the stomach, lung infections, malnutrition consequences, digestion problems, constipation, infections of eyes, infections following burns, wounds and surgery, and general health and vitality. Sidr honey is known to have a strong antioxidant and antibacterial activities (Alandejani, Marsan, Ferris, Slinger, & Chan, 2009).”
